They integrate a PIN diode and a preamplifier in a single package with an IR filter. These modules offer low supply current, improved shielding against EMI, and immunity to supply voltage ripple and noise. The TSOP24.. and TSOP44.. variants are optimized to suppress spurious pulses from energy-saving lamps like CFLs, making them the preferred choice for new designs. The TSOP22.. and TSOP48.. are legacy products suitable for common IR remote control data formats.
