The SGX-BLD2 is an automotive-grade Hydrogen and Battery Leakage Detection sensor designed to monitor H2 concentration via CAN communication. It is crucial for ensuring the safety of hydrogen storage systems and Li-ion battery enclosures by detecting gas generated during leakages or Thermal Runaway events. This early warning capability allows Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) or Battery Management Systems (BMS) to alert passengers, enabling them to evacuate safely. The sensor utilizes reliable thermal conductivity technology and also features a CO gas sensor to detect the venting phase prior to Thermal Runaway, offering a more comprehensive safety solution than pressure sensors alone.
